Area wise load shedding across the country from tomorrow

Load-shedding

Prime Minister's Energy Adviser Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury said that electricity will be distributed through area-based load shedding as per the schedule from tomorrow (19th July) across the country to reduce the loss of fuel oil. He also said that diesel based power plants will be closed from Monday (July 18).

These decisions were taken in an emergency meeting at the Prime Minister's Office on Monday (July 18). Besides, energy advisor Taufiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury has urged to implement the decision to close shops after 8 pm.

Some other matters were decided in the meeting. These include suspension of oil-fired power generation, virtualization of some functions of public and private offices and closure of petrol pumps for one day a week.

Meanwhile, State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid has called an emergency press conference at the Secretariat today at 3:30 pm. It is also known from related sources that the state minister will discuss these issues there.
