Bangladesh in the final with 8 goals to Bhutan
Bangladesh reached the finals of Women's SAFF Championship after crushing Bhutan. Bangladesh girls scored eight goals against Bhutan in the semi-final of the tournament. Sabina scored three goals in this 8-0 victory. One goal each by Swapna, Krishna Rani Sarkar, Rituparna Chakma, Masura Parveen and Tahura Khatun. For the first time since 2016, the girls reached the final of the SAFF championship.
Sirat Jahan sent the ball into the net of Bhutan in the second minute of the match. Striker Monika Chakmar, who scored a brace against India, took the ball past the goalkeeper and sent it into the net. Sabina increased the gap in 18 minutes. He received the ball from Maria Manda and hit the target with a far post Konakuni shot. In the 30th minute, Krishna Rani headed in Rituparna's cross to make it 3-0. When the Bhutanese goalkeeper stepped forward to block Krishna, Ritu caught the ball and sent it into the net. Sabina's free kick was not saved by the Bhutanese goalkeeper, but defender Masura tapped the ball into the net.
Substitute Tahura Khatun also got on the scoresheet after that. He pushed the ball into the net from the jam inside the box. Sabina completed the hat-trick in extra time. The experienced striker entered the box alone with the ball and scored a goal. Bangladesh's semi-final stage was thus colored by two Hali goals. Today, India-Nepal will face Bangladesh in the final.
