If Rohit-Kohli is dismissed, India's half is over: Asgar
Virat Kohli gave a devastating century against Afghanistan in the Super Four of the last edition of the Asia Cup. After more than two and a half years, his century came with the bat. It is also the first century of his career in T20 International. Kohli's unbeaten innings of 122* off 61 balls made India 212 that day. Skipper Rohti Sharma did not play. Afghanistan's former captain Asghar Afghan opened up about the match.
In an interview given to 'Hindustan Times' he said, 'When a cricketer does not perform, he is talked about. It is a part of every cricketer's career. But whenever we played against India, our plan revolved around Rohit and Virat Kohli. We used to say, get these two out, then half of the Indian team is gone. The entire cricket world was planning with these two cricketers like this. They alone are capable of winning the match.'
Talking about the strategy to stop Kohli-Rohit in their time, Asgar said, 'We always had a plan, to attack these two from the beginning. Because, if they can't get out, it will be difficult to put India in danger. Especially Virat Kohli. Once he settled down on the wicket he was very difficult to get out. We believed that if they were dismissed early, India would be 100-120 runs short in ODIs. And 60-70 runs will be reduced in T20.'
