Rabi's art is celebrated in the coming winter festival
Fine arts faculty of Rajshahi University (Rabi) celebrated
the arrival of winter with Nakshikantha, Pithapuli and dance and
song. This colorful arrangement has been made to welcome the winter
season. Vice-Chancellor Professor Humayun Kabir inaugurated the festival
at 11 am on Monday.
The vice-chancellor said that winter is one of the most
diverse seasons in Bangladesh. This season is all about
enjoyment. Because we spend most of the year in summer. But winter
comes for a short time. Moreover, it makes various pithapulis more
enjoyable. One of the attractions of this art. The festival and
Pithapuli here are enjoyed by everyone in the campus. Therefore, he urged
to continue such rituals to retain the Bengali tradition.
Under the chairmanship of Professor Mohammad Ali, Director
of Faculty of Fine Arts, Treasurer Professor Obaidur Rahman Pramanik, Public
Relations Department Administrator Professor Pradeep Kumar Pandey, Student
Advisor M. Tarek Noor, Professor Abdus Sobahan, President of the
Department of Painting, Oriental Art and Printmaking and TMM Nurul Modasser
Chowdhury, President of the Department of Graphic Design, Crafts and Art
History, etc.
The faculty has been seen, the road to the main photo
gallery of fine arts is decorated in rainbow colors, and the artificial lotus
pond is beautiful as you enter. Around which are lit earthen
lamps. Artificial birds are flying from tree to tree, yellow sunflowers
are lining the road. Dhenki's dummy is adorning the front of the
stage. Even the stage and building are colorfully decorated. There are
stalls of pithapulis made by fine art students, various hand-made furniture
with carvings. Even since noon, the entire faculty campus was filled with
songs and dances of Bengali culture.
This festival is organized by the students of Fine Arts Faculty. They said that such festivals are organized in arts to nurture the traditional culture of Bengalis. So through this festival we want to welcome winter and also spread Bengali culture.
