In 2022, Time Magazine's 'Entertainer of the Year' became 'Blackpink'. They got this recognition as the second Korean band after BTS. BTS was Time magazine's 'Entertainer of the Year' in 2020. But 'Blackpink' is an exception in one aspect. They are the first female band in history to receive this recognition. 
This year, the band reigned supreme on all international charts. As a result, such recognition was largely assumed.
In response to being named Time magazine's 'Entertainer of the Year', the band said, 'We're at our best when we're making music. Being consistently this good brings moments of joy for all time.'
