September may be the last month of load shedding: Planning Minister
Planning Minister MA Mannan said that next September may be the last month of load shedding.
He said this at a press conference after the National Economic Council Executive Committee (ECNEC) meeting on Tuesday (August 16).
The minister said, load shedding will gradually reduce from the end of September. The global recession is ending.
He said, we talked to the Prime Minister about load shedding in the Ecnec meeting. Later, in response to the questions of the journalists, the minister said that according to the information of the Ministry of Power, load shedding may gradually decrease in September.
Claiming that the situation in the country is improving, the minister said that many people said that the country has become Sri Lanka. It has been two months without Sri Lanka. Reserves were now at sustainable levels. Inflows of remittances increased. Received more remittances after Eid. Remittances increased by 30 percent. Export wind is good, besides revenue collection is also good. We will not fall into the ditch, but rise out of the ditch. Fuel is slowly coming to the world market. I will adjust the fuel.
Ukraine-Russia produces one percent of the world's four percent of food. I hope the fear will go away. The economy of the country will return to the flat stream. We have this belief, said the Minister of Planning.
Six projects have been approved in ECNEC meeting. The total cost of implementation of the projects has been estimated at 2 thousand 504 crores 75 lakhs. Out of this, 1 thousand 628 crore 13 lakh taka will be spent from government funds and 876 crore 62 lakh taka from foreign loan assistance.

Sonapur-Kabirhat-Kompaniganj (Basurhat-Dagonbhuia) regional highway upgradation project cost has been estimated at Tk 457 crore. The cost of Chunkuri Bridge construction project on the Chunkuri River at the 28th kilometer of Ghalamari-Batiaghata-Dakop-Nalyan Forest Road has been estimated at Tk 745 crore 33 lakh. The cost of the Ashuganj Inland Container River Port establishment project has been estimated at Tk 458 crore. The cost of the road construction project along the Karnaphuli River from Kalurghat Bridge to Chaktai Canal has been estimated at Tk 436 crore 15 lakh. The cost of BSIC Printing Industry City project is estimated at Tk 125 crore 85 lakh. The cost of irrigation expansion project through canal water conservation in Barendra area has been estimated at Tk 249 crore 40 lakh.
