516 tons of hilsa went to India in nine days

516 metric tons of hilsa have been exported to India through
Benapole port on the occasion of autumn Durga festival. Meanwhile, 10 more
companies have been allowed to export 50 metric tons of hilsa in two
phases. With this, a total of 2 thousand 950 metric tons of hilsa will be
exported to India. This order of conditional export will remain in force
till September 30.
Meanwhile, Friday (September 16) is a government holiday, Saturday (September 17) is an Indian holiday for Vishwakarma Puja and Sunday (September 18) will be closed for three consecutive days as the Indian authorities will not accept fish.
Benapole Land Port Fisheries Quarantine Officer Mahbubur Rahman said that according to the hilsa export policy of 2021-2024, 59 organizations have been allowed to export a total of 2,950 metric tons of hilsa in two phases, 50 metric tons per organization. From September 5 to September 14, hilsa was exported 516 metric tons. There was one day of public holiday in between. This order of conditional export will remain in force till September 30. Most of the hilsa will be exported to India through the land port of Benapole, the exporters said.

House, said that instructions have been given to the field level officials of
customs for quick export of hilsa.
