The High Court of Pakistan ordered to withdraw the anti-terrorism law case brought against former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan. Imran Khan's lawyer Faisal Chowdhury gave this information on Monday. On August 20, Pakistan's former Prime Minister Imran Khan was booked under the Anti-Terrorism Act for commenting that action would be taken against a senior police officer and a woman member of the judiciary. His bail was increased several times in that case.
Imran Khan's lawyer said, the court has commented that the charge brought against Imran is not related to terrorist activities.
Imran alleged that the government is harassing the leaders of his party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in various ways. Apart from this, the government is also involved in maneuvering to build a wall in the party's relationship with the powerful army. Imran also accused a PTI leader of remand and physical torture. For this, he threatened to see a senior police officer and a judge in a rally.
Faisal Chowdhury said that the case against Imran Khan will continue even if the High Court asks to withdraw the anti-terror charges against Imran Khan. However, its proceedings will continue in the general court. His trial in the Anti-Terrorism Court will be stopped.
The case filed against Imran Khan by the police as a plaintiff has been a topic of discussion in Pakistan for the past few months. There were also rumors that Imran Khan might be arrested. However, Imran has always maintained that his comments were not meant to threaten. He meant taking legal action.
Election on time
Meanwhile, according to a report of Pakistan's Geo News, Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif discussed various issues with PML-N leader Nawaz Sharif in London last Sunday. These discussions also included the issue of the country's general elections. After three and a half hours of discussion, they agreed to hold elections in Pakistan on time. They also agreed that the current coalition government of Pakistan would end its term. Meanwhile, PTI leader Imran Khan has repeatedly demanded to announce the election date. He is threatening mass agitation if the election time is not announced soon.
