BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that the movement started in Chittagong will spread across the country and bring down the government. He said this in the speech of the chief guest at a mass meeting organized at the polo ground in Chittagong city on Wednesday afternoon.

The rally was organized at the divisional level (organizational department of the party) to protest against the abnormal increase in the price of fuel and daily necessities, to protest the killing of leaders and workers during the party program and to demand a non-partisan neutral government during the election. Leaders and activists of Chittagong metropolis, North and South, Cox's Bazar, Rangamati, Bandarban, Khagrachari, Feni, Noakhali and Laxmipur districts participated in it.

Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said, one point one demand. The government must resign. The movement started from Chittagong today will be spread across the country. The government will fall in the movement. Elections will be held under a non-partisan caretaker government. The slogan of millions of people present at the rally in Chittagong today is one - the downfall of the government.

Addressing Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Mirza Fakhrul said, 'You told people to eat less. Burn less electricity. There will be famine in the country. So why are you there? Relinquish power now. Otherwise you will not find a way to escape.'

Mirza Fakhrul said that the current government has turned Bangladesh into a crematorium and said that this government is not an elected government. So everything was looted and smuggled abroad. The people of the country are poor. Sheikh Hasina's 10 taka rice is now 70 taka. Prices of daily commodities including rice have increased three to five times. Electricity prices will also be increased in the future. Petrol, gas, water prices have also been increased. Due to rising prices, they are taking money from people's pockets and making houses in Canada's Begumpara and London.

Mirza Fakhrul complained that everything including the judicial department of the country has become partisan.

Chittagong Metropolitan BNP convenor Shahadat Hossain presided over the rally and local leaders along with BNP central committee leaders spoke. The polo ground of the city was full and the area around one kilometer was deserted.
