Petition with 2 lakh signatures demanding re-play of World Cup final

Argentinians can hear the demand and say, uncle's abdar! Why should the final match of the World Cup be played again? However, many people in France really want the final match of the Qatar World Cup to be played again. A petition has been made with signatures of about 2 lakh people in this regard.

Last Sunday, Argentina won the World Cup final by defeating France 4-2 in a tiebreaker. The match was tied 3–3 at full time. Some of the referee's decisions in this match caused dissatisfaction among France fans. After the match, there was controversy over the penalty awarded by Polish referee Simon Marchiniak in the 23rd minute of the match.

Many people think that Ousmane Dembele did not foul Di Maria. Then there was the argument that France striker Kylian Mbappe was fouled before Di Maria's second goal in the 36th minute, which the referee did not see. But the matter is not limited to logic anymore.

A petition has been launched on online petition platform 'Mesopinions' demanding a replay of the World Cup final match. Petition Name—'Referee was bought, no penalty + Mbappe fouled before second goal. Sign the request to replay the match.'

According to 'Economic Times', the number of signatures on this petition is about 2 lakh till yesterday. Today the number is more normal. It is among the top 20 most signed petitions. If it crosses 500,000 signatures, the petition will be one of the three most signed petitions on the French online platform. Most of the citizens who signed the petition are from France and the number of comments is more than 85 thousand.

One commented, 'The referee is corrupt.' Another commented, 'The referee's behavior was questionable.'

Unable to bear the pain of the loss, French football fans have petitioned before. 18 months ago, France were eliminated in the last sixteen of the Euros after losing to Switzerland. Despite this loss, the petition was filed. The petition claimed that Kylian Mbappe had stepped out of the goal line of Swiss goalkeeper Ian Somme when taking the spot kick.
