Bangladesh Test and T20 cricket team captain Shakib Al Hasan
will be the goodwill ambassador of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) or not,
the commission is looking into.
In response to a question from journalists on Tuesday afternoon, the secretary
of the commission said. Mahbub Hossain said this.
The question was, ACC Goodwill Ambassador Shakib Al Hasan has been accused of being involved in corruption. Whether the image of the commission will be damaged or whether Shakib Al Hasan remains the goodwill ambassador of the commission even in this situation.
In response, the secretary of the commission. Mahbub Hossain
said, 'When complaints come, nothing happens immediately. Give me some time.
The Anti-Corruption Commission is looking into the matter, wait.'
Mahbub Hossain said, 'You know that Shakib Al Hasan is the
world's best all-rounder and the captain of the team. The contract signed with
him as brand ambassador of ACC in 2018 was that he would work on making
documentaries for ACC without remuneration. And a documentary was made with him
only once in 2018 when ACC's 106 complaint hotline was launched. After that we
didn't do any more documentaries or any activities.'
Recently, allegations have been made against Shakib Al Hasan
for making agreements with gambling establishments, manipulating the stock
market, and forging his father's name. Many see these activities as corruption.
Interrogation of seven officials of Biman
In response to another question, the secretary of the
commission said that seven officials have been interrogated so far on charges
of corruption related to the purchase of aircraft from Egypt by Biman
Bangladesh Airlines. In the interests of justice, the investigating officer may
interrogate any other persons.

Boeing aircraft from Egypt Air on lease basis for five years in 2014. It was
later investigated by the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Ministry of Civil
