Bangladeshi Film 'Hawa' at Oscars

Mezbaur Rahman Sumon's first movie 'Hawa', which caused a stir in the showbiz, will compete in the Best International Feature Film (Foreign Language Film) category of the 95th Academy Awards.

 On Sunday (September 25) morning, Bangladesh Federation of Film Society and Oscar Committee Bangladesh authorities confirmed the matter through a press release.

Bangladesh Federation of Film Societies said in that notification that the film selection committee formed under the initiative of Bangladesh Federation of Film Societies has nominated the film 'Hawa' produced by Sun Music and Motion Picture Limited and directed by Mr. Mejbaur Rahman to represent Bangladesh in the 95th Oscar Foreign Language Film Award competition.

Please contact the coordinator of Oscar Bangladesh Committee for online submission of the film and ensure that all the information and English subtitled print of the film along with ancillary data (DCP, PVD etc.) reach the Motion Picture Academy authorities by September 30.

Note that the 95th Oscars award ceremony will be held on March 12, 2023. The awards will be presented in 24 categories at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, California, organized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
