Japan bids farewell to Abe
Grieving Japan bids
farewell to former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe with a state funeral . He was
the longest serving Prime Minister of the country . This is
the second state funeral
for a former Japanese prime
minister since World War II .
Representatives from
at least 217 countries are expected to attend his state funeral in
the capital Tokyo today . Reuters news
On July 8 , he was shot dead at close range while addressing an election rally in Nara , Japan .
Japan has tightened security
on the occasion of the funeral of the former prime
minister . Dog snipers have been dropped
at train stations . There is a
heavy police presence at the airport in Tokyo .
US Vice President Kamala Harris is expected
to attend the funeral . Two flower offerings will
be arranged so that the public can pay their respects
on this occasion .
The funeral service will
be for limited guests . The event
is supposed to be about an hour and a half . The
national anthem of Japan will be played at this
time . A moment of
silence will be observed in honor of Shinzo Abe . The
ceremony will conclude with the farewell to Shinzo Abe
