Motorcycle collides with pole in Laksam, two youths killed
Two riders were killed when a motorcycle lost control and
rammed into a safety pole at a road junction in Laksam, Comilla.
The accident took place at Bhaishkopaliya intersection of
Laksam municipality on the Comilla-Noakhali four-lane highway around 9 pm on
Saturday.
The two deceased are motorcyclist Shanto Singh (25), son of
Jaharlal Singh of Alishwar village of Lalmai upazila, and rider Chayan Singh
(24), son of Shukradhan Singh of the same village. In the accident, the
motorcycle carrying them got twisted.
When asked, Sub-Inspector (SI) Lalmai Highway Police Station
of Comilla Farooq Hossain told that the two youths were returning
home from Laksam Junction in the nearby Lalmai Upazila's Alishwar village at
around 9 pm.
On the way, the motorcycle lost control when it reached the
Bhaishkopaliya intersection of Laksam Municipality on the Comilla-Noakhali
highway. At that time, two young people were seriously injured after hitting
the safety pole on the side of the road. Local people rescued them and took
them to a nearby clinic where doctors declared them dead.
SI Farooq Hossain said that the motorcycle and the body were recovered due to the accident.
