Nine more people were arrested from Salimpur in front of Chittagong Press Club

 

Police arrested nine more people on charges of assault during police and administration operations in Jungle Salimpur.

These nine residents of the area were arrested and taken to Sitakunda police station in front of the Chittagong Press Club after noon today.

Later, Police Inspector (Investigation) Suman Vanik said that nine people were brought from in front of the press club. They are being investigated whether they are involved in the attack on administration and police three days ago in Salimpur.

Chittagong City Police Kotwali Zone Assistant Commissioner Mujahidul Islam said that with the help of Kotwali Police Station, they were arrested and taken to Sitakunda Police Station.

Earlier, 63 people were arrested from two buses in Sitakunda Sadar last Saturday late night. All of them are residents of Salimpur area and were on their way to Dhaka for a press conference, police alleged.

Police said most of those arrested were attackers during the administration's operation on Thursday.
