After the death of Queen Elizabeth II, 73-year-old new British King Charles III automatically assumed the throne of the rest of the world except the United Kingdom. A 21-gun salute marks the end of the ceremony, paying homage to the late queen, expressing loyalty to the new king, and wishing him long life. Yesterday, the ceremony to declare Charles as King of New Zealand was organized from Parliament in Wellington. There, Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said that the Queen's son 'His Majesty King Charles III' was announced as our head of state. Ardern says New Zealand has entered an era of change with the Queen's death. Our people attach great importance to this relationship. No doubt it will be deeper.
