Truck hit Kalurghat bridge
The accident happened on the bridge on Sunday (September 11) night.
Later, with the help of Boalkhali Police Station, the truck involved in the accident was recovered and the traffic flow was normalized.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Boalkhali Police Station. Abdur Razzak said that when a truck had an accident on the bridge, the police moved it and normalized traffic.
The railing of the bridge was damaged by the impact of the truck.
Meanwhile, since the accident, vehicles are moving through the bridge at risk.
Boalkhali upazila is home to about two and a half lakh people. About thousands of vehicles ply on this route every day. Besides, it is the only bridge connecting South Chittagong with rail. Locals are angry with the poor state of the bridge.
Locals said that small and big accidents are happening almost every day. The development of this bridge has stopped due to lack of government supervision.
Their question, if a major accident happens on the bridge, who will take the responsibility?
