Arrested Sonia Akhter is the founder president of Rajbari Blood Donors Club, a voluntary blood donor organization and a member of the district women's team. Sonia lives in Baradanga area number 3 of Rajbari city. Sonia was arrested by the police on the night of October 4. The court ordered Sonia to be sent to jail on Wednesday afternoon.
Before this, on October 10, Sonia Akhtar's bail application was filed in Rajbari No. 1 Amli Court. Judge Kayshun Nahar Surma rejected the bail plea. Apart from this, a bail application was also made on the day of arrest.
According to Rajbari Sadar Police Station and local sources, Samsul Arefin Chowdhury, Science and Technology Affairs Secretary of Mizanpur Union of Rajbari Sadar Upazila, gave a written complaint to Rajbari Sadar Police Station regarding the Facebook post. Later the complaint was registered as a case. According to the complaint, Sonia Akhtar posted that post on Facebook about a month before the case was filed.
According to the complaint, on August 31, Sonia Akhtar gave a status from her own Facebook account. There he criticized a speech of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and wrote 'offensive' words. Many have accused the post of defaming and defaming the Prime Minister.
After Sonia Akhter was sent to jail, BNP central committee leaders visited her house several times. Leaders and workers of the district committee and allied organizations were present at this time. The leaders inquired about his family members. He promised to be by his side. Meanwhile, the Rajbari District Muktijudda Manch held a human chain and protest rally to demand the punishment of Sonia Akhtar.
