On Friday afternoon, such a scene was seen at Labani Point, the longest beach in the world. The scene that colored the minds of thousands of tourists. Not only Labani point, various points of the beach including Sea-Gal, Sugandha, Kalatalis were popular with tourists on the occasion of Puja holidays.
Apart from the beach, tourists flock to Inani, Himchhari and Daryanagar beaches along the Marine Drive. Besides Ramu Buddhist Vihar, Bangabandhu Safari Park in Chakaria and Nivrite Nisarg and Saildwip Maheshkhali also saw a lot of tourists. However, tourism traders say that the number of tourists is not as expected as Friday is a Puja holiday and a weekly closing day. Tourism businessman Dr. Shafiqul Islam said that due to the rough weather of the last few days, tourists have come less. Besides, after the launch of Padma Setu, many people have turned towards Kuakata and Sundarbans. Due to which tourists did not come to Cox's Bazar as expected.
Aditi Barua Bahni, a student of Chittagong University, came to the beach from Chittagong's Lohagara. He said, I came to visit my uncle's house, on that occasion I came to the beach with everyone including uncle and aunt. Today the beach is not unusually crowded. Everything is tolerable. Enjoyed it all together. Raihan Uddin, Member Secretary of Cox's Bazar Beach Management Committee and Manager of Tourism Corporation, said, "Thoughts are being made for additional entertainment for tourists visiting Cox's Bazar." 1 lakh 70 thousand tourists have the opportunity to spend the night in about 500 hotels-motels, resorts and cottages in Cox's Bazar city and Marine Drive road. President of this organization Abul Kashem Sikder said that most of the rooms have been rented in star quality and medium hotels. Small resorts and cottages have empty rooms.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Chowdhury Mijanuzzaman of Tourist Police Cox's Bazar region said, there has been a lot of tourists around Labani, Sugandha, Kalatali. But we expected the turnout to be more. He said that the tourist police are in the field all the time for the overall security of the tourists. Besides, the patrol has also been increased.
Cox's Bazar Beach Management Committee President and Deputy Commissioner Md. Mamunur Rashid said, we have held several meetings with stakeholders to ensure overall safety, facilities and services for tourists. Also, several teams of the district administration are working at the beach to stop tourist harassment.
