A student of Chittagong University (CHB) was bitten by a poisonous snake. He was seriously injured. On Monday (October 3) morning, Rafiq Islam, a postgraduate student of the Department of Zoology and an apprentice researcher at the Venom Research Center, confirmed this information.

Earlier on Sunday (October 2) at around 11 pm, the incident took place in a cottage near Shahjalal Hall of the university. At that time he was rescued and admitted to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.

The name of the injured student is Marjan Hossain. He is a student of Political Science 18-19 academic year.

Apprentice researcher Rafiq Islam said that the boy was bitten by a poisonous green bora snake on Sunday night. But the poison levels seem to be low, so no problems so far. He was brought to Chittagong Medical College Hospital at night.

He also said that the name of the snake is Green Pit Viper. It is poisonous, its poison often destroys blood cells and causes problems in blood circulation. Therefore, it is forbidden to put any kind of dam on the body when bitten by a snake. Although the risk of death is low, these snake bites can cause disfigurement and excessive bleeding. There is no specific anti-venom for green bora snakes. It is treated in other ways (with antibiotics).
