Three passengers were killed in a mid-air collision between
two small planes in Colorado, USA.
The two planes collided over Boulder County, 30 miles north
of Denver on Saturday morning local time (September 17).
After the collision, the two planes crashed in two separate
places in an open field, London-based International News Agency reported.
It is known that the two planes collided in mid-air at 8.50
minutes local time of the country. One of the two planes that collided was
a Cessna 172, the other a Sonex Genos.
Sonex Zenos is an aluminum light aircraft that can be built
at home. The Cessna 172 Skyhawk is a small single-engine aircraft with
only 4 seats.
Investigators are looking into what caused the two planes to
collide, the US National Transportation Safety Board said.
The Boulder County Sheriff's Office said three people were
on board both planes. A plane had a pilot and a passenger. Both were
killed in the accident. Only the pilot was in the other plane. He
died on the spot after the accident.
