Child drowned in Saraipara pond

A child named Saiful Islam (12) died after drowning in a pond in Saraipara under Pahartali police station of the city. The deceased Saiful Islam is the son of Zainal Abedin of that area. The accident took place in the pond of Lalmistri's house on Monday morning.

Chittagong Medical College (CHMEC) Hospital Police Bang Sub-Inspector (SI) Nurul Alam Ashek confirmed the matter, quoting the deceased's relatives, Saiful Islam drowned when he went swimming in the pond around 7 am. After receiving the information, the police rescued him and brought him to Chamek Hospital for one-stop emergency care at around 1:15 p.m. The doctor on duty there declared the child dead.
