T20 World Cup champion team will get 16 crore Taka
The T20 World Cup will start on October 16 in Australia. ICC
has announced the amount of prize money ahead of the tournament.
Today on their website, ICC said that the champion team will
receive 1.6 million dollars in the T20 World Cup this time. The amount in
Bangladeshi currency is about 16 crore 1 lakh 50 thousand taka.
The final will be held in Melbourne on November 13. The
runner-up team will receive half the prize money of the champion team. In other
words, the losing team in the final will get 8 million dollars. The amount in
Bangladeshi currency is about 8 crore 75 thousand taka.
Out of the four semi-final teams, the two losing teams will
each receive $400,000 (Tk 40,37,000). The total prize money in this tournament
of 16 teams is 5.6 lakh dollars (about 56 crore 5 lakh 26 thousand taka).
Four teams from the Super Twelve will advance to the semi-finals. There is also prize money for the remaining 8 eliminated teams. Each of these 8 teams will get 70 thousand dollars (about 7 million 6 thousand 580 taka). Apart from this, each team will get 40 thousand dollars for winning each match in Super Twelve.
Eight teams have already secured their place in the T20
World Cup Super Twelve—Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, India, New
Zealand, Pakistan and South Africa. The other 8 teams will be divided into two
groups for the first round of games. From here 4 teams will join Super Twelve.
Namibia, Netherlands, Sri Lanka and United Arab Emirates are in Group 'A'.
Group 'B' includes Ireland, Scotland, West Indies and
Zimbabwe. There is $40,000 prize money for winning each match in the first
round. 12 matches will be played in this round. In all, the total prize money
for winning the match in the first round is 4 lakh 80 thousand dollars.
Each of the 4 teams eliminated in the first round will receive $40,000.
