The Bangladesh team failed miserably in the first of the last two opportunities to prepare for the T20 World Cup. Everyone expected some improvement in the performance of the Bangladesh team, which played a tri-series in New Zealand a few days ago. But Shakib's team turned that hope into disappointment. The Tigers suffered a big defeat by 62 runs in the first warm-up match against Afghanistan. There was some improvement in the batting in the last match of the tri-series but it went back to where it was in Australia.

Afghanistan batted first and scored 160 runs, but Bangladesh stopped by losing 9 wickets and scoring 98 runs. Mosaddek Hossain scored maximum 29 runs. At one time the Tigers lost 7 wickets for 47 runs. Six batsmen of the team could not reach double figures. Among them, Afif and Yasir Ali Rabi returned before opening the run book. That again only copes alone. If not for the 27-run partnership of Mosaddeq and Mostafiz in the ninth wicket, Bangladesh would have faced a bigger shame.

The Afghans, who won the toss and went into bat at the Allan Boarder ground in Brisbane, did not get off to a good start. Taskin Ahmed broke the opening pair for 19 runs. He returned Hazratullah Zazai who scored 15 runs. Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran added 43 runs for the second wicket. Shakib breaks the tie. He returned Gurbaz who scored 26 runs off 20 balls. Hasan Mahmud brought back Ibrahim Zadran, who created a storm with the bat. When he returned with 46 off 39 balls, the Afghans had amassed 104 runs in 14.4 overs. After that, Afghan captain Mohammad Nabi stormed with the bat. Basically, with the help of his 17-ball four and 5 sixes, the Afghans scored 160 runs for an unbeaten 41. Taskin took 3 wickets for 30 runs for Bangladesh.

Batting for a target of 161 runs, Bangladesh sent Nazmul Hossain Shanto and Mehedi Hasan Miraj to open the innings. The two added 19 runs. Shant returned with 12 runs off 9 balls. After that the batsmen of Bangladesh only came and went. In the last ball of the fourth over and the last two balls of the fifth over only 7 balls apart, respectively Soumya Sarkar, Bangladesh lost from the match after losing Shakib Al Hasan and Afif Hossain. When Yasir Ali came and joined the team, Bangladesh lost 5 wickets for 28 runs. Nurul Hasan Sohan and Mosaddek Hossain tried a little but it did not work. Sohan returns with 13 runs. After that, Bangladesh was saved from great shame by Mosaddeq's welfare. Apart from that, Nama Mirage scored 16 runs off 31 balls completely incompatible with T20 cricket to open the innings. And Bangladesh stopped at 98 runs. Pacer Farid Ahmed took 3 wickets for 9 runs for Afghans. The Bangladesh team will face South Africa in their last preparation match.
