Farewell to actor Masum Aziz

Stage, TV drama and film actor Masum Aziz passed away. Apart from cancer, the Ekushey Padak award-winning actor and director was also suffering from heart problems for a long time. He was admitted to the capital's Square Hospital last week when his physical condition deteriorated. He was on life support since Thursday.

Finally Masum Aziz left the world today at 3:30 pm on Monday. The news of his death was confirmed by Golam Kudduch, president of Sammilita Sanskari Jota. Masum is survived by his wife and two children. The country's entertainment arena has mourned the death of Masum Aziz.

The body of the actor will be taken to the Central Shaheed Minar on Tuesday. There will be a tribute to him from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm, said Golam Kudduch, President of Sammilit Sanshikari Jota. According to the actor's family sources, Masum Aziz's body will be taken to his village home in Pabna after paying public respects. He will be buried there in the family cemetery.

Masum Aziz started acting through stage plays. He was studying at Chittagong University then. He acted in the first TV drama in 1985. He acted in numerous TV dramas including Humayun Ahmed's 'Ude Jai Bakpakshi', Salauddin Lovelu's 'Tin Gada'. Apart from this, Masum Aziz has also been seen in many movies including 'Gaheene Shabad', 'Ai To Prem', 'Gaadiwala'. He won the National Award for Best Supporting Actor in 2006 for his performance in the movie 'Ghani'. Masum Aziz has also directed a government funded movie called 'Sanatan Ghabi'. The movie was released in 2018. In 2022 he received Ekushey Padak.
