Kidnapped sailor rescued from Fisherighat in Phatikchari
Police have arrested three people including two women in connection with the kidnapping of a boatman named Kamrul Hossain (42) from Fisherighat area of the city. At this time, 71 thousand 400 Tk of ransom was recovered from them. They were arrested in raids in different areas of the city last Wednesday and Thursday. The arrested are Chkhina Begum alias Hashina alias Morjina (46), Md. Shahjahan alias Joy (30) and Kana Begum (30).
According to the police, the members of the kidnapping gang took Kamrul in a car from Fisherighat last Tuesday. They locked him in a mountain of Phatikchari. Earlier, some women took obscene pictures with him and demanded a ransom of two lakh taka by threatening to publish those pictures. In this incident, the owner of the trawler Shahadat Hossain filed a case as the plaintiff. The owner of the trawler paid Tk 2 lakh to the kidnapping gang. However, when Kamrul was not released, they came to the police station. Police locate the criminals and rescue the victim after arresting them. 71 thousand 400 taka was recovered from two lakh taka.
