The body of missing Anas was recovered from Halda

The fire service recovered the body of missing Muhammad Anas (14) who went down the Halda river. His body was recovered from the sluice gate area of the Halda river in Ward No. 1 of Garduara Union of Hathajari Upazila on Saturday (October 8) around 8 am.
Muhammad Anas is the son of Muhammad Abu Taher of Garduar area. He is said to be an 8th grade student of a madrasa in Hathazari Upazila.
Hathajari Fire Service and Civil Defense Station Station Officer Shahjahan said that on Thursday (October 6) around 5:30 pm some teenagers were playing football on the banks of Halda river. Suddenly the football falls into the river. Then three people jumped into Halda river to fetch the ball. Anas drowned in the river even though the two managed to come back. On receiving the information, a group of fire service and civil defense personnel conducted a rescue operation at the Halda river on Thursday and Friday. But they did not find any trace of Anas.
He said, Anas' body was found floating one kilometer away from the spot this morning. Later fire service personnel recovered his body.
