If Sheikh Hasina loses, this country will no longer be Bangladesh: Bridges Minister

Obaidul Quader

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said that the highway is not the ancestral property of any political party. Rajpath is not BNP's ancestral property, Rajpath belongs to the people. This highway belongs to the people of Dhaka. The highway was not leased to any party.

He said this at the conference of Lalbagh Police Station and Ward No. 23, 24, 25 and 26 organized at Nawabganj Park in Lalbagh of the capital on Tuesday afternoon.

In response to BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir's statement, 'Rajpath will be in the possession of BNP from now on', Awami League General Secretary said, 'If you want to protest, protest peacefully on the streets. Do not create any kind of anarchy in the name of movement. The highway was not leased to anyone. You will protest in an empty field and the leaders and workers of Awami League will sit and suck their fingers, that will not happen.'

He said, 'BNP has sent some people to do the agitation. We will see who stays for how long. During the last election, the condition of 22 parties was a mess. Now their condition is the bully-roar of Asadha.

Obaidul Quader said, 'The conspirators do not know that Sheikh Hasina does not know how to retreat like Bangabandhu, she is not afraid. Bangladesh will not exist if Sheikh Hasina is not in power. They do not know that Bangladesh will lose if he loses. The independence of Bangladesh will be lost, the spirit of the liberation war will be lost.

Addressing the party leaders and workers, the general secretary of Awami League said, 'Don't break the discipline of the party. Sheikh Hasina will not give concessions to those who create chaos. You cannot become a leader by sloganeering, by creating chaos, by showing strength. Whoever is popular in the area will be the leader.

Lalbagh Thana Awami League General Secretary Matiur Rahman chaired the conference Awami League presidium member Dr. Abdur Razzak and Kamrul Islam, organizational secretary Mirza Azam, legal affairs secretary Najibullah Hiru, central leader Dr. Mostaf Jalal Mohiuddin, Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League President Abu Ahmad Mannafi, General Secretary Humayun Kabir and others gave speeches.
